Dan Rather used to be the anchor of the CBS Evening News but lost that job for some reason, and now the former newsman spends a bit of time on Twitter going for retweets from lefties who don’t allow reality to cloud their preferred worldview. This tweet is no exception:
Make no mistake, if Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. were alive today, he would be stigmatized as “woke” and attacked accordingly.
— Dan Rather (@DanRather) August 21, 2022
Seriously?
The “woke” crowd would be going after MLK Jr. in a big way.
I taught a university class that analyzed the MLK “I Have a Dream” speech.
I can tell you without hesitation, modern Democrats would disagree with everything Dr. King said in his August 28, 1968 speech.
Dr. King would be fighting the modern “Woke” culture in every way possible. https://t.co/fFNkMBLLLC

No, you and your ilk would condemn him for suggesting that people should not “be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." https://t.co/FJf4u8udQq

Because “judge people by the content of their character, not the color of their skin” is the most “woke” thing ever? Nice try, Dan.
Tell me you know nothing about MLK Jr, without telling me. https://t.co/ZCVs1bEQUc pic.twitter.com/r6q5xSpik3

If Dr. Martin Luther King Jr were alive today— he would be explaining to his people how the democrats are enslaving them with welfare https://t.co/FEbl5pid84

You're not like the other white people, Dan. You "get" it. Thank you for being "down with the struggle." https://t.co/VRkJ9TaeX2
— Jon Gabriel (@exjon) August 22, 2022
He would have been attacked by liberals even more frequently. https://t.co/6PD9aNS6uN

Maybe Mr. Rather can tell us what the FBI might be doing to MLK Jr. if he were alive today, though it seems to be out of line these days to dare challenge the integrity of the bureau.
I’m no lawyer, but it seems to me a bit problematic if your strongest defense is “Hey, the FBI planted all this damning evidence.”
— Dan Rather (@DanRather) August 10, 2022
What would Dr. King think of that defense of the FBI?
