Biden urges Trudeau to use 'federal powers' to end trucker protests (after DHS bulletin about possible convoy to DC)

As we told you yesterday, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a bulletin warning that a trucker convoy could end up heading to Washington, DC in time to get there ahead of President Biden’s State of the Union speech:

Right on cue, the Biden White House is urging Canadian PM Justin Trudeau to take action to end the Freedom Convoy protests:

From the New York Post:

The so-called “Freedom Convoy” protesters blocked the Ambassador Bridge linking Windsor, Ontario, to Detroit for a fourth consecutive day Thursday, prompting the Biden administration to call on Canadian officials to demand an immediate end to the blockade.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg discussed the matter with their Canadian counterparts, a White House official told CNN. President Joe Biden is “being regularly briefed” on the situation, the official said.

Clearly the Biden admin wants trucker protests put down before they spread to the U.S.

There’s a way to quickly end the protests, but Trudeau’s not about to go there:

This is sure a lot different than 2020:

Bingo!
