Earlier we told you about reports that DirecTV will be dropping the One America News Network in April when their current contract expires.
CNN’s Oliver Darcy seems unhappy with the reporting of others for not doing enough to point out that OANN spreads misinformation:
Remarkable how some news outlets just can’t get themselves to accurately describe OAN as a right-wing conspiracy channel. Reuters even describes the channel in the outlet’s story as a “popular news network.” This misleads readers and does a disservice to them.

Speaking of outlets that spread conspiracies and misinformation, we’ll get to that in a minute…
The phrasing that goes something like, “OAN has been criticized for spreading conspiracy theories” is also weak. OAN spreads conspiracy theories. You don’t need to hedge on this one! It’s well-documented. Readers deserve clarity on the subject, not a dance around the obvious.

WSJ somehow did an entire story without mentioning OAN is a hotbed of misinfo / conspiracies. The outlet just describes OAN as a “conservative news channel” known for being pro-Trump and its “advocacy of conservative causes.” Again, this type of timid reporting misleads readers.

Hard to place much blame on the average news consumer for falling under the impression conservative views are being unfairly censored by liberal forces, given how some reputable news orgs are framing stories like this. If the press can’t call OAN for what it is, we’re in trouble.

Somebody needs a reminder about where he works.
Remarkable how some news outlets just can’t get themselves to accurately describe CNN as a liberal/DNC conspiracy channel. Many describe the channel only as a “news network that nobody watches.” That part is true, but this misleads readers and does a disservice to them. https://t.co/RDaLwlKQ1I

I've never watched OAN, but CNN lied about; Russian Collusion, Russian Bounties, Fine People hoax, Hands Up Don't Shoot, protected multiple pedophiles, mostly peaceful protests, promoted Michael Avenatti for president and that's just what I can think of laying in bed hungover

Remember when OANN cut a check to Nick Sandmann to settle his defamation lawsuit? Oh wait, that was CNN.
Don’t you work for the network that propped Avenatti up on a pedestal? 🙄

What in the world would we call CNN then?
Russia hoax channel?
Avenatti for President channel?
Left wing fake news?— Pan Jan (@NurtJohn) January 15, 2022
What would you call the network that pumped the fake Russiagate conspiracy for years?

How often has CNN had Dan Rather, Michael Avenatti and Rep. Adam Schiff on?
Speaking of spreading misinformation, remember this doozy on CNN?
When it comes to accusing other media outlets of spreading misinformation, CNN can take all the seats.
