As political leaders around the world and in the U.S. take measures they say will help slow the spread of coronavirus (with some displaying staggering levels of hypocrisy), Dr. Anthony Fauci continues to give updates and offer advice on what he thinks needs to be done.
One of those things Dr. Fauci thinks is necessary is for people to do what they’re told:
Dr. Fauci: America has an “independent spirit” but now is the time “to do what you’re told” pic.twitter.com/t7uY4nHyGk

That leads to an obvious question:
Or else what?! https://t.co/eriZVZqiNh

Ah, there’s the rub! If Dr. Fauci takes that message very far he’ll find out that Americans will give a slightly warmer welcome to recommendations than they do orders:

Nope Im done listening to experts who told us 2 weeks to flatten a curve that turned into 8 months. These people are evil.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but: You’re not my daddy. https://t.co/wozdiklvdU

Fauci needs to really work on the effectiveness of his message.
“Do what you’re told” doesn’t sell as good as “please follow these guidelines to help everyone.” https://t.co/BCm27c2qb7

Pretty sure that's what King George said

King George III tried the same shit with us, Dr Fauci. Ask him how that played out. https://t.co/i9eb0DURxI
