The New York Times report about President Trump’s tax returns and losses as a businessman from the mid-80s to the mid-90s have captured the imaginations of Democrats, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is trying to use the story to make some insinuations:

Forget who did what long before they were in office — many would rather scrutinize the rising incomes of some “public servants” while they’re in office:
All members of CONgress are vulnerable to shady lobbyists and should release tax records. We would like to know how so many of y'all become multi millionaires while in office.
