Buzzfeed’s big “bombshell,” which is just the latest reason the Resistance is convinced Trump’s finished for good, became a little less explosive after the reporter who served up the scoop admitted he hadn’t personally seen the evidence supporting the claims in the story. But that’s not stopping the likes of Rep. Adam Schiff (of “not traveling overseas on a U.S. military aircraft this week” notoriety) from thinking he’s finally found a smoking gun:
The allegation that the President of the United States may have suborned perjury before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his business dealings with Russia is among the most serious to date. We will do what’s necessary to find out if it’s true. https://t.co/GljBAFqOjh

Former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who was fired by Trump and is no supporter of the president, poured a little cold water on Schiff’s overheated excitement:
Yes if true this is a game-changing huge deal. Reserving judgment til there is more proof. https://t.co/5ahE8Dd2SY

Sometimes when the most blockbuster incriminating stuff comes forward, you want to be most measured. Because the facts will speak for themselves and damn the guilty. Rhetoric won’t be necessary.

Proof? Facts? Schiff certainly doesn’t seem to be demanding any before pushing the Dem narrative regardless of the truth.
