As you know, former President George H.W. Bush passed away yesterday at the age of 94. There have been some nice remembrances, but this Associated Press encapsulation of the life and presidency of George H.W. Bush raised some eyebrows:
George H.W. Bush, a patrician New Englander whose presidency soared with the coalition victory over Iraq in Kuwait, but then plummeted in the throes of a weak economy that led voters to turn him out of office after a single term, has died. He was 94. https://t.co/LaSU5ho2os pic.twitter.com/ld9KqRHdaU

Really, AP?
This is a very bad tweet. https://t.co/uzMKP8WCsf

The article goes into greater detail about the extraordinary life of the 41st U.S. president, but that lede — yikes.
Congratulations. You've managed to get even liberals pissed off at you for this garbage headline.
Quite an accomplishment. Maybe someone will put it in your organization's obit.

And there’s a good, old-fashioned ratioing in progress:
Boy, I have no idea why people think you’re biased and don’t trust you
— Jon (@JonnyMicro) December 1, 2018
Y’all are really tacky. I mean . . . REALLY. TACKY.
— Bookwormroom (@Bookwormroom) December 1, 2018
The @AP sticking the knife in Bush's legacy on the night he passes away.
And then they wonder why so many people don't trust them. https://t.co/VotMQzrr76

This is despicable.

This is the most classless thing. How did your editor think this was a good idea? https://t.co/OCnPxXPiB0

Even Buzzfeed put out a better tribute than this. https://t.co/hn6mzSE2DO

The AP should delete this tweet and then delete its social media manager. https://t.co/sgRAFk26uJ

If this headline was any cheaper the dollar store would reject it.

This is why people hate the media and why that hatred is justified. Good job, @AP. https://t.co/b7PwI3w5o9
