Ever since his unfortunate encounter with a fire alarm hit the news New York Representative Jamaal Bowman has maintained that the whole thing was just a big misunderstanding. Bowman insists that he was simply confused by poor signage and a locked door and, silly him, he thought that pulling the fire alarm would open the doors! It's just a misunderstanding!
Well, we now have footage of the fateful moment and that sure doesn't look like an accident to us. What do you think?

We see Bowman walk purposefully around a stanchion holding a sign, walk over to the door and rip the signs that say "Emergency Exit Only" on them as he clumsily tries to open the door; he then casually walks over to pull the fire alarm before sauntering away. Never once after pulling the alarm does he appear to even so much as glance back at the door, as one would expect if he 'thought the alarm would open the door'. Sure looks like he knew exactly what he was doing here to us. How's that excuse holding up now, Congressman?
Does that look like a man who was befuddled because he was 'in a rush to vote'?

He thought it would open the door, which is why he walked away after pulling the alarm without ever turning towards the door.

Yeah, there's no way he'll just pretend like nothing ever happened. After all, Jamaal Bowman is clearly a man of integrity.

Well we were supposed to believe that, but Bowman apparently never counted on anybody actually seeing this video. Wonder why?
He knew EXACTLY what he was doing and should be charged accordingly. Why should he get a pass when any other civilian wouldn’t?

Hard to see how we wouldn't come to that conclusion, yeah.
Presumably it's seen as safe to release this video now since Bowman has already accepted a plead guilty to a misdemeanor on this issue... although the question now is how he was offered the deal to plead to a misdemeanor when he had so blatantly been lying to the public and, we assume, prosecutors as well. The DC snake-pit is gonna do DC snake-pit stuff we guess.
