WNBA star Sophie Cunningham told ESPN that men didn't belong in women's sports, and now she's "MAGA Barbie." Here she is posing with bad girl Riley Gaines and XX-XY founder Jennifer Sey—and conservatives got mad when Colin Kaepernick got involved in politics.

It's the LGBTQ community—mostly the T part—that has made men playing in women's sports and sharing women's locker rooms and showers a political issue. It was a cultural issue until trans rights activists started demanding legislation mandating that men be allowed in women's spaces.
Because protecting women’s sports and spaces is ‘right wing’ or something.

Sadly, it's become a political issue, with Democrats choosing the wrong side of an 80/20 issue once again.
I've never heard of Tate McRae. I honestly don't know if she's a singer or an actor or what. But Forbes has found it its duty to inform its readers that though McRae may be distancing herself from MAGA, she hasn't outright denied it.

Let's see what the fuss is about. Mary Whitfill Roeloffs writes:
Grammy nominee Tate McRae is continuing to take heat for her perceived association with the MAGA movement, after she refused to outright deny the speculation in a recent Variety interview in which she pointed to her support of LGBTQ+ and women's causes and said she thinks it's “pretty obvious” what side of the aisle she stands on.
…
The singer has since been slammed for refusing to outright state that she’s not affiliated with President Donald Trump’s Make American Great Again movement, with online commenters suggesting her silence speaks “volumes.”
…
McRae, who is Canadian, has been dodging online speculation she's associated with MAGA for more than a year, since she scored her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 song by duetting with Morgan Wallen on “What I Want." Wallen has never publicly endorsed MAGA, but his music is widely considered to be "Trump-coded," while he's strongly associated with conservative audiences and has a history of "racial behavior.” McRae is also rumored to have been dating New Jersey Devils hockey player Jack Hughes since last November. The athlete, who also played for the U.S. Olympic hockey team last winter, was at the center of a controversy that saw the men’s team members laugh at a sexist comment about the women’s team made by Trump.
What's a history of "racial behavior," exactly, and why is it in quotation marks? She did a duet with a singer whose music is widely considered (by whom?) "Trump-coded." Oh, and the hockey connection.
Mark Hemingway makes a great point:
The entire US media is running stories about “The Return of the Red Scare” right now but has unironically done this to every merely perceived right-leaning celebrity for decades. https://t.co/0JrNSwxyfl

Weren't you a reputable and serious publication at one point? What happened?

Do you want some sort of grovelling apology from her. Unlike you guys some people actually have some fucking self respect.

The left : “McCarthy was evil!”
— The Fool (@lears_coxcomb) August 4, 2026
Also the left: “Tate McRae will not disavow MAGA!”
Far Left Forbes writers distance themselves from reality by trying again to smear normal people with common sense beliefs.
— Old Sport (@OldSport_X) August 4, 2026
That headline is a crime. Pure Maoism.

Pretty gross from Forbes. But at least based on the article title she seems to be an intelligent woman with a good sense of right and wrong.
— SwissArmyTenor (@SwissArmyTenor) August 4, 2026
That same title makes Forbes look like prissy activists.
Oh look, it's the author @maryroeloffs

What the hell is this article

She's Canadian, but hasn't outright denied that she's MAGA. Is that a requirement or something to remain in the music business?
