The Somali community in Minnesota has a bit of a public relations problem after Nicky Shirley and others uncovered billions of dollars of fraud by the Somali community and their childless daycare centers, and remarkably high autism diagnoses. In February, I reported on Somali women in Minneapolis who were demanding reparations for the trauma they'd undergone during Operation Metro Surge. "We need paid back whatever they committed ICE," I reported one woman as saying. Apparently, their businesses were struggling with ICE agents in town.
This clip reminds me of when President Joe Biden went on MSNBC and apologized for calling Laken Riley's killer an "illegal" during his State of the Union address. "I'm not gonna say anything bad about these people," he said. "They built this country."
End Wokeness posted a video of a woman at the Minnesota State Capitol claiming that Somalis built not only Minnesota's economy, but the very soul of the state itself. Maybe that's why they ditched their old flag in favor of one that very closely resembles Somalia's.

According to the Center for Immigration Studies, approximately 81 percent of Somali-led households are on some form of public assistance. I wouldn't call that building the economy.
Aren’t over 80% of them on welfare?

Somalis built the Somali economy by stealing from Americans and sending it to Somalia.

I think she meant to say that Somalians abuse the free handouts and welfare the most.

They didn't build anything. They moved into and area that Americans built and started stealing everything.

I was in Minnesota in the early 1990s, before the Somali invasion, and while still very liberal, the Minnesota economy was doing just fine.

Was this the Quality Learing Center valedictorian's speech this year?
— RedWaveSurfer (@red_wave_surfer) April 27, 2026
The fact that they call themselves Somalis and not Americans is proof they don’t belong here

Like so many other immigrants these days, they endlessly champion the countries they left to come here.

How have Somali immigrants made life better for non-Somali Americans. No one can give a specific answer.

They built a failing economy sure, we can give them that
— Shawn (@ArcanesDreamer) April 27, 2026
I'm sorry but Somalis built the economy just as good as they did in Somalia
— Closer To The Source (@CloserToSource) April 27, 2026
How did they build the economy. Please explain
— Richard (@9309Joy234) April 27, 2026
Somalis built the Quality Learing Center economy, that's for sure.

Did they ever catch the crooks who broke into one of the Somali daycares and stole all of the enrollment records right after the scandal broke? We haven't heard a follow-up on that.

Of course she has to throw in that little gaslighting one liner, because how can any of them ever pass an opportunity to express their complete disdain United States national borders.
But the Somalis are on stolen land, just like everyone else in Minnesota. We hope she did a land acknowledgement before this little speech.
