I'm making this a VIP post so I can write in first person, because this is something that has bothered me in particular. I can't find the post now, but it wasn't so long ago that President Joe Biden suggested that multiple law enforcement officers died on January 6, 2021. The correct number is zero — no police officers died on January 6.
What burns me up is how they use Officer Brian Sicknick's death on January 7 to support their agenda. The New York Times had reported that Sicknick had been beaten to death with a fire extinguisher by one of the "insurrectionists." That turned out not to be true and the Times backtracked. The coroner's report revealed that Sicknick died of natural causes. "The D.C. chief medical examiner has ruled that Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick suffered two strokes and died of natural causes the day after he took part in defending the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riots, The Washington Post reported on Monday." Well, then the Sicknick truthers claimed he had the strokes because of January 6, but the medical examiner "said there were no indications of internal or external injuries."
People die. Sicknick happened to die the day after January 6. Democrats and other liberals use this as the basis of their claim that it was a "deadly insurrection." Deadly to Ashli Babbitt, maybe, but not to any cops.
So now, on January 6, 2025, the Senate Judiciary Democrats are remember the FIVE officers who lost their lives "because of" January 6, not on January 6. So, did they die from injuries they sustained?

Excuse me senators, but there's a pending Community Note with sources:
Recommended
No officers were killed.
The medical examiner found Sicknick died of natural causes which means “a disease alone causes death. If death is hastened by an injury, the manner of death is not considered natural.
”Four other officers committed suicide days to months later.
And another:
Brian Sicknick died of a stroke after January 6. The other four died by suicide, none on January 6. There were, however, 4 people who died that day. Two from heart attacks, one from drugs, and one from homicide committed by a Capitol police officer.
Police officers committed suicide because of the longstanding trauma of January 6? None of them left a note saying so. So we'll just assume that's why they killed themselves.
It's sickening to use these officers' deaths this way … to flat-out lie about them to advance a agenda. But these senators are just writing history — that's why even the president believes multiple officers were killed on January 6. You'd think he of all people would have been briefed, but no.
This is a disgusting lie.

We know it’s a lie.
Not one officer lost their life because of Jan 6. Not one.

Complete lie.

Fact check: False

Brian Sicknick died from a stroke long after the protest was done, and the medical examiner ruled that was not connected with the events.
The others died from suicide over the years.
Please try the truth, just for variety.
And have a lovely day.
As I'll report in a later post, the @POTUS account said today that we should commit to remembering January 6, 2021 every year, forever. And we are reminded of it, and not just on January 6. But Joe Biden and the Senate Judiciary Democrats want us to misremember January 6. They're trying to rewrite history, and they're succeeding.
