Earlier today I did a post on a person who claimed that you were racist and pro-genocide if you aren't wearing an N95 mask in public. Note that they have to specify N95 masks, because as the former president of Planned Parenthood admitted, the cloth masks we'd been made to wear were "little more than facial decoration."
I still see a few people at the store wearing masks, and that's fine with me. But the vast majority aren't … President Joe Biden, who happily wore two masks when the CDC recommended that, doesn't wear a mask anymore, even though Jill Biden recently tested positive for COVID.
But I'm not writing about masks. I'm writing because I wasn't sure if the person who called it racist not to wear a mask was actually a really good parody account, but her timeline was pretty solidly progressive.
As we reported earlier this week, Raw Story did a piece on Jesse Kelly embarrassing himself by calling the Statue of Liberty American architecture.
People love to sound sophisticated and brag about European art and architecture. I’ve seen America’s and I’ve seen what they’ve got.

That was pretty obviously a joke. Keith Olbermann took the bait, as did Keith Olbermann and Raw Story.

Kelly even got hit with Community Notes.
Now, days later, Guardian columnist Rowan Moore has written about how "rightwing culture warriors" like Kelly "can't help torching the truth."

Here's the full screenshot in case that gets cut off:
I could have headlined this piece, "Left-wing columnists can't take a joke."
One thing I've learned from writing for Twitchy is that conservatives are funny. Seriously, I see more wit in the replies to some left-wing loon's post than you'll ever see on "Saturday Night Live" or any of the late-night talk shows. It's no wonder Greg Gutfeld is killing it in the ratings.
I don't know why this particular post of Kelly's blew up like it did, but the reaction has been hilarious. As an example of American architecture, he could have posted a photo of any building in the United States, but he used a picture of a statue. That should have been a giveaway, but apparently not.
