New College's only full-time gender studies professor resigns

There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the Left when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis named Christopher Rufo to New College of Florida's board of trustees. Rufo was an extremist who made critical race theory sound like a bad thing and also opposed queer theory in schools. The idea they had was to turn New College into a serious bastion of learning — the Hillsdale of the South.

We reported a little bit ago that Rufo had announced an end to the college's gender studies program, which is just pseudoscience layered on top of Marxism. Now we're hearing that the school's only full-time gender studies professor has resigned.

What a tragic loss.

According to the school's website, "Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary academic program that draws on curricula across the campus (and beyond) to engage students with the complex focal problem of 'gender' … it also intersects with interdisciplinary fields including Cultural, Ethnic, and Africana Studies." "The mentorship I received in New College’s Gender Studies program helped propel me into a successful career in the realm of political organizing. Without the skills I learned in this program, I would be on a totally different (and less exciting!) trajectory," says one graduate.
