Before we even get into the story, notice once again, as with “Don’t Say Gay,” how the mainstream media simply adopts the language and agenda of progressives as the default. “Laws limiting gender-affirming care for transgender minors”; surgically removing the perfectly healthy breasts of a 14-year-old girl is “gender-affirming care.” Pumping kids full of cross-sex hormones is “gender-affirming care.” Who could possibly oppose these “lifesaving” treatments?
As we’ve reported, the Associated Press has been simping for transgender lawmaker Zooey Zephyr and used her “banishment” to put out a warning about red state legislatures populated by hardline conservatives:
The banishment of transgender lawmaker Zooey Zephyr from Montana's House floor has showcased the rising power of hardline conservatives who are leveraging divisive social issues to gain influence in 11 statehouses. https://t.co/OteBU8K0wK

The AP thinks it’s onto something: Many states considering a ban on “gender-affirming care” for minors are basing their bills on model legislation from conservative interest groups — unlike completely grassroots campaigns for abortion or gun control.
With more than a dozen states enacting laws limiting gender-affirming care for transgender minors, an AP analysis found that many of those bills stemmed not from a grassroots movement but from a handful of conservative interest groups’ model legislation. https://t.co/0v9lo1f5eA

The AP reports:
Aaron and Lacey Jennen’s roots in Arkansas run deep. They’ve spent their entire lives there, attended the flagship state university, and are raising a family. So they’re heartbroken at the prospect of perhaps having to move to one of an ever-dwindling number of states where gender-affirming health care for their transgender teenage daughter, Sabrina, is not threatened.
“We were like, ‘OK, if we can just get Sabrina to 18 … we can put all this horrible stuff behind us,’” Aaron Jennen said, “and unfortunately that’s not been the case, as you’ve seen a proliferation of anti-trans legislation here in Arkansas and across the country.”
At least 17 states have enacted laws restricting or banning gender-affirming care for transgender minors, though judges have temporarily blocked their enforcement in some, including Arkansas. An Associated Press analysis found that often those bills sprang not from grassroots or constituent demand, but from the pens of a handful of conservative interest groups.

And?
“In the case of restrictions on gender-affirming care for youths, they allow a handful of far-right groups to spread a false narrative based on distorted science, critics say.”
AP doesn’t waste any time getting to “critics say” before interviewing a handful of liberal interest groups. But those liberal interest groups are never far-left, as the conservative ones are “far-right.”
You are not a serious news organization.

With more than a dozen states enacting laws limiting irreversible sex change surgery for minors with gender dysphoria, – fixed your headline for you.
— Jack Spitz (@JackSpitz5) May 20, 2023
Actually they are bills aiming at safeguarding the health and safety of gender questioning youths. Why are you so dishonest?

Protecting children from permanent “care” before they are old enough to make these decisions should be something everyone supports. 🤦♀️

It’s about protecting kids.

Reality check: I am not "far right" and I am completely in support of denying gender affirming care (aka mutilation of our children) in all 50 states

The moment you use the left-wing euphemism "gender-affirming care," you have proven you're engaging in activism, not journalism.https://t.co/ahnEId7IO9

Stop referring to the medical mutilation and irreversible experimentation on children as “care.”

By “Gender Affirming Care” you mean:
✅ Chemical Castration
✅ Permanent Bodily Mutilation
✅ Medically unnecessary double mastectomies— Hugh Jass (@HueJass2k22) May 20, 2023
Breast cancer drugs do not suppress puberty, they atrophy healthy organs. This will be one of the greatest criminal money grabs of all times with the most severe repercussions.

They’re banning parents from mutilating their kids for social credit. Get your headline right.
— In Distress Mets Rebo (@SportsRebo) May 20, 2023
Nope, it came from a grassroots movement of parents who demanded their elected representatives take action to protect our innocent children. @AP has become trash. It's tragic.

"AP analysis" lolz
You guys are irrelevant

The Associated Press has discovered lobbying! And only the “far-right” does it. And who do they think makes up these “conservative interest groups”? Conservatives. A conservative speaks up at a school board meeting about not letting biological males into the girls’ showers and is labeled a “domestic terrorist” by the government. Thank goodness we have conservative interest groups to right for us.
