This editor just finished a post on the New York Times explaining that the “religious right” is attacking “transgender rights” to fire up the base after losing on same-sex marriage. The Times has adopted the language and demands of the transgender community 100 percent; there’s no argument to be had over allowing minors to have “gender-affirming” surgeries or allowing biological males in girls’ locker rooms. These are transgender rights, period.
Having said that, here’s a video of a trans activist explaining how forcing a child to go through puberty is actually mutilation if you think about it. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of forced puberty, and we’re sure it won’t be the last. And hormone treatments? They’re life-saving medications and reversible (not).

I will always be conservative about this subject. LET KIDS GO THROUGH PUBERTY! Those hormone blockers can affect a kid’s brain development, bone development etc. They are not safe for children!

Under their original use, they were used for a few short years for early puberty, then removed for the child to go through puberty at a healthier age. No studies have been done on *never* going through biological puberty (not cross-sex).

Where is the empirical data that supports puberty blockers?
Someone please share a peer reviewed study that shows, without a doubt, that puberty blockers are safe, reversible and have no long term detrimental effects.

Nations that have been prescribing these are dialing these treatments back due to a number of young people with osteoporosis and that the blockers and hormones and surgeries did not reduce the suicidal thoughts and experiences. Sweden and Finland are saying no more.
