We imagine a lot of blacks will be moving to San Francisco if this comes about.
San Francisco is a weird place. Back in May 2022, Mayor London Breed announced her five-year plan to end transgender homelessness. Breed had budgeted $6.5 million to end trans homelessness by 2027. Not all homelessness … specifically transgender homelessness. In November, Breed introduced the Guaranteed Income for Trans People program, which will provide low-income transgender San Franciscans with $1,200 each month, for up to 18 months, to help address financial insecurity within trans communities. That wasn’t Breed’s first foray into guaranteed income, though. The Abundant Birth Project of 2021 sent $1,000 monthly checks to pregnant black and Pacific Islander women to address structural racism.
San Francisco loves giving away money, and now the city’s reparations panel has floated making a one-time $5 million payment to each black resident of the city.

Mark Moore reports:
A San Francisco panel studying reparations has proposed a one-time payment of $5 million to each black resident of the city deemed eligible as recompense for the “decades of harm they have experienced,” according to a report on Monday.
“A lump sum payment would compensate the affected population … and will redress the economic and opportunity losses that Black San Franciscans have endured, collectively, as the result of both intentional decisions and unintended harms perpetuated by City policy,” the San Francisco African American Reparations Advisory Committee said in a draft report issued last month, Fox News Digital reported.
The committee also proposed wiping out all debts associated with educational, personal, credit card and payday loans for black households.
So on top of the $5 million each, credit card debt would be wiped out for every black household.

That’s not enough. It should be $100 million each.

Do it

And what happens when it doesn’t work? 🤔
— All4Naught (@All4Naughttt) January 16, 2023
Do they realize that at some point people are going to expect to get that money 🤣

Might as well run up those credit card bills since they’re going to be forgiven eventually.
Pass this along to all of your black friends and coworkers. Tell them you just want a 10% finders fee

They are high.

Why not $50 million?
I mean, are they racist or what?

The cost of living in San Francisco is high. On top of that eggs are close $10 per dozen and bread prices are rising. This is inadequate. It needs to be doubled at a minimum.
— JohnFlat (@johnflat) January 16, 2023
This would cost approximately $250 billion. Their 2022-2023 budget is $14 billion and they have a deficit of approximately $728mm. Good luck!

I identify as a black San Francisco resident.

Can we see a picture of these panel members please?
Sounds pretty sketchy

I would love to see them do it. They don’t have the money. California is down $20 billion from a year before where they had a $100 billion surplus. These people are clowns 🤡 they make Bozo look smart.

Guaranteed income is just the start. Reparations is where it’s headed next.
