As Twitchy reported Monday, CBS News broke the story that classified documents had been found in President Joe Biden’s private office at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington. The classified material was identified back on November 2, right before the midterm elections, but we’re only hearing about it now. CNN reported that the documents were related to Ukraine and Iran. There hasn’t been much media speculation that the documents contained nuclear secrets as there was when the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago.
CNN Politics notes Tuesday that this is just a “new line of attack” that has fallen into Republicans’ laps just as they take over the House.

As House Republicans officially take over Congress and clamor to investigate the Biden administration, a new line of attack fell squarely into their laps: classified documents recovered from one of President Joe Biden’s private offices when he served as vice president.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer, a key lawmaker in leading investigations in the 118th Congress, vowed to send letters to the White House and the National Archives, which his panel has jurisdiction over.
“President Biden has been very critical of President Trump mistakenly taking classified documents to the residence or wherever and now it seems he may have done the same,” Comer said. “How ironic.”
So it’s basically a “Republicans pounce” story.

CNN seems just as concerned as the Democrats that the Republicans will use their majority to investigate Biden. It would seem the news story here is that Biden had classified documents in his possession for years, but this is CNN doing “analysis.”
