As Twitchy reported earlier, Elon Musk on Tuesday fired James Baker, the former FBI who was vetting which files to release to Matt Taibbi and Bari Weiss to show the Biden camp’s influence on suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story on Twitter.
In light of concerns about Baker’s possible role in suppression of information important to the public dialogue, he was exited from Twitter today

As some have said, Baker, as a former FBI lawyer, is probably an expert at scrubbing incriminating evidence. Greg Price has put together a nice biography of Baker. It’s amazing to watch as Musk cleans house to see just who was pulling the levers there; he’s really draining the swamp.
THREAD: Meet @thejimbaker, the former top FBI lawyer turned Brookings Institute fellow turned CNN contributor turned Twitter deputy counsel at Twitter.
He is the Forrest Gump of the swamp. pic.twitter.com/4Dlz2gBBck

As we all know, in 2016, the Clinton campaign fabricated a connection between Donald Trump and a Russian bank. This claim was given to FBI by Michael Sussman (later indicted and acquitted for lying about it to the FBI) and the FBI lawyer he gave it to? James Baker.

Hillary Clinton’s tweet “exposing” Donald Trump’s secret server tied to Russian Alfa Bank, a story made up by her own campaign, is still up because she’s absolutely shameless.
James Baker as an FBI lawyer was also deeply involved early in the process of obtaining FISA warrants to spy on 2016 Trump campaign official Carter Page.
He told Congress in 2018 that he personally reviewed the FISA application that relied heavily on the phony Steele Dossier.

In 2016, James Baker as an FBI lawyer was played a key role in the persecution of Michael Flynn. He was part of the team at the FBI that sent a special agent into a 2016 Trump campaign national security briefing to collect evidence on Flynn.

In 2018, James Baker resigned from the FBI to become a Brookings Institute fellow and CNN analyst. He then went on to work at the Libertarian think tank R-Street Institute.
He would later be under criminal investigation for leaking classified information about the Trump admin.

A CNN analyst, of course.
In 2020, Twitter hired James Baker to be their deputy general counsel. The Twitter files released last Friday reveal that he urged them to censor the laptop saying it was "reasonable for us to assume they were hacked."https://t.co/SWAaKVryUX

So this guy James Baker approved warrants to spy on Trump based the Steele Dossier that was paid for the Clinton campaign and sourced to a man investigated by the FBI was a Russian agent but urged caution while at Twitter about not censoring Hunter's laptop lol.

And finally as Taibbi revealed today, he was personally reviewing the Twitter files without the knowledge of management.
This guy has literally been involved in every major anti-Trump scandal of the last six years.https://t.co/tSfK9cNVPH

James Baker intercepted the Twitter Files before they could get to Taibbi and scrubbed references to the FBI

Given that revelations of this nature seem to come every few weeks the current GOP pearl-clutching session around Trump's comments about the Constitution are kind of insane https://t.co/GURx1YOLcj

It's a bit difficult to maintain the US Security State had no role in Twitter's censorship regime when *the General Counsel of the FBI* – centrally involved in Russiagate and all sorts of politicized abuses – ended up as Twitter's Deputy General Counsel, with paws in everything. https://t.co/yht42xl4hI

Barely a month ago, @lhfang and @kenklippenstein published a batch of previously secret documents proving how centrally involved DHS is in Big Tech's censorship schemes. @yoyoel admitted he met with them and FBI weekly. None of this it in doubt.https://t.co/vhyfd8ooeQ
— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) December 6, 2022
Whenever Congress seeks to limit Big Tech's monopoly and censorship powers, all the same US Security State goons who spread the "Russian disinformation" lie about the Biden docs vocally object, because online censorship is one of their key weapons:https://t.co/euDaeCIgOq
— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) December 6, 2022
By now, the evidence is overwhelming that the US Security State is heavily involved in pressuring Big Tech to censor.
Zuckerberg said this. Twitter execs admitted it. Tons of documents prove it. Only liberal journalists and Dem functionaries try to put this in doubt.
— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) December 6, 2022
No, Twitter was just taking down naked photos of Hunter Biden as a matter of policy.
So, we had a fox guarding the henhouse situation with the first review and release of Twitter files. Awesome. 😑At least Elon and his team caught it.
What I am really looking forward to: Biden Administration collusion with Twitter to silence and punish people regarding COVID.
