On Halloween, Elon Musk recommended that everyone on Twitter follow Yoel Roth, Twitter’s head of Trust and Safety.
I recommend following @yoyoel for the most accurate understanding of what’s happening with trust & safety at Twitter
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 1, 2022
Conservatives asked Musk to rethink that recommendation. Roth has had some very interesting opinions about Republicans and conservatives, tweeting that “I’m just saying, we fly over those states that voted for a racist tangerine for a reason.” And the original Women’s March inspired him to tweet that “Yes, that person in the pink hat is clearly a bigger threat to your brand of feminism than ACTUAL NAZIS IN THE WHITE HOUSE.”
Reported, Roth is leaving the company, and we’re not a bid sad about it:

Good. "Truth & Safety" is a euphemism that would make Orwell blush. https://t.co/uW8dRKSsWh

Head of Trust and Safety is a euphemism for Head of Censorship and Propaganda.

During the space yesterday I remember thinking “I hope he fires this guy” every time that Yoel guy spoke.

This is great news for Twitter going forward. We have no idea why Musk kept the guy on.

Editor’s Note: Republican voters deserve answers and accountability for the failed red wave.
