As Twitchy reported, Rep. Rashida Tlaib ripped the “fascist” Supreme Court for limiting the regulatory reach of the EPA. “The federal government will be restricted from regulating anything of significance in the absence of a clear Congressional directive to do so,” she tweeted, apparently unaware that she’s a member of Congress. Restricting the federal government is almost always a good thing, but David French says that “a dangerous game is afoot.” Sure, SCOTUS is telling Congress to do its job … but what if Congress refuses?
A dangerous game is afoot. The Supreme Court is telling Congress, “If you want something done, you’ll have to do it yourself.” But what if Congress says no? What if it continues to place partisan imperatives over its institutional responsibilities? https://t.co/BWIMAMz1DW

“The Constitution isn’t working,” says French.
I don't understand why this piece is called "The Constitution Isn't Working" when it should be called "Congress Isn't Working" being that that's what the piece is about.

Then nothing gets done. Because that's the way it's supposed to work. It is not SCOTUS' job to write laws for Congress. If Congress refuses to do its job, the voters should pressure them to stop wasting time. You calling this "dangerous" is beyond the valley of the stupid.

Then we’re at a stalemate. Our system was set up to make it somewhat difficult to put legislation into law. Meaning things only with overwhelming support should become law.

They all get voted out and we start over.
What is difficult about this?

Let’s be honest, in most cases when Congress does nothing the American people win. Because their “doing something” is usually just taking more of our money and redistributing it on idiotic, wasteful programs that grow government to the detriment of the people.

It’s mind boggling that even with a law degree from Harvard, and graduating cum laude, you write crap like this.
What happened to you?

A dangerous game is limiting power to its constitutionally deigned wielders? Congress' inaction is a problem of their own making and SCOTUS is not obliged to shield it from the consequences of their own actions, especially if consequences include electoral defeat b/c of inaction

It's working better than ever – the Court is finally stepping out of matters it never should have gotten involved with. Just because the policy outcomes are undesirable to some doesn't mean the underlying structure has failed.
— LibertyMaverick (@LibertyMav) July 12, 2022
If Congress can't agree on a course of action, the no action is taken until a workable consensus is reached. If one or both refuse to propose or accept a workable consensus, that's what happens.
This *is* the way.

Honest question, what entity decides if something should get done?

"A dangerous game is afoot, in which 9 appointed justices in robes refuse to allow individuals or unelected bureaucracies to dictate policy to The People, and instead want The People's elected representatives to do their jobs"
Super dangerous https://t.co/2BNw1wapHy

That's not a dangerous game. That's the judiciary doing its job, and the legislature failing to do its job. Which means we should elect different people to the legislature. https://t.co/kGDJM6bU0p

You…are arguing its dangerous for Congress to pass laws? Their primary purpose? https://t.co/kQPFSGy36z

Counterpoint: The Constitution is working perfectly, thankfully, in spite of all the people its framers contemplated at the time it was conceived. https://t.co/0xKMEoNwBh

Oh noes it's dangerous if SCOTUS doesn't write laws (which it cannot legally do) and Congress refuses to do its job. – said the grifting clown https://t.co/IFKEjFrcKa

America: How does it work? https://t.co/HN4H5FFi1A

You’d think a conservative would be happy about gridlock when the Democrats control both houses of Congress.
