Roe v. Wade has been overturned and the talking points have been sent out. Halle Berry was passing around a list of abortions that if aren’t performed, women will die. Among those lifesaving “abortions” are operations to remove ectopic pregnancies, which even the Planned Parenthood website claims are not considered abortions. But we’ve already heard of horror stories of women almost dying from ectopic pregnancies because their doctors were on the phone with lawyers for six hours making sure they wouldn’t lose their license.
Once you get past the garbage about “rape culture,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez notes how men are writing these laws without knowing what they’re talking about. Don’t tell her that people in the 1800s knew what an ectopic pregnancy was.

The first surgery to treat an ectopic pregnancy was in 1883.

Maybe even earlier:
The first recorded ectopic pregnancy was diagnosed by French surgeons in 1693 and the first successful treatment of an ectopic pregnancy was in 1884

Ectopic pregnancy was first discussed by Albucasis in 963 AD

Frm Abulcasis (936-1013) & until the 19th century ectopic pregnancy was known as a fatal accident. By reporting successful treatment of tubal pregnancy in 1884 Robert Lawson Tait (1845-1899)started an era of almost 70 yrs of extirpative treatment of ectopic pregnancy.
They knew.

We don't appreciate how sophisticated our knowledge was in the past. Here's "Lectures on Ectopic Pregnancy and Pelvic Haematocele" published in 1888.

All I had to do is ask my phone, to get the right answer.
Seriously, I'm literally high right now and I could find the answer for this in about 10 seconds.

We won't tell you. You can just Google it yourself.

Is surgical correction of an ectopic pregnancy in jeopardy? This is scare mongering, right?
— The Fourth Dog (@DumbDog7) July 2, 2022
No.
She may not be literally correct but she's emotionally correct

If it makes her feel better, 99% of the people getting apoplectic over ectopic pregnancies on twitter don't know what an ectopic pregnancy is
