This tweet is just stupid but there’s a reason we’re featuring it. As we reported earlier this week, MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan took a look at President Joe Biden’s approval numbers with young people — which have dropped among 18-30-year-olds a full 25 points since he took office. Hasan’s take isn’t unique, certainly, and he’s saying that Biden had better cancel those student loans before the midterms if he wants to hold on to the House. It’s bribery, essentially; we cancel your student debt, and you vote for us in 2022. The pressure is coming from a lot of places to do something fast.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal tweeted Saturday that canceling student loan payments isn’t just economic justice, it’s also racial justice and gender justice.
Student debt cancellation is racial justice.
Student debt cancellation is gender justice.
Student debt cancellation is economic justice.

There’s no thread explaining why any of this is true. It’s just something Democrats say.
Can any lib explain why student debt is somehow morally superior and worthy of cancellation at the expense of the working class compared to mortgages, car notes, business loans, and any other huge number of examples?

Sorry you didn’t go to college and get good debt like liberal arts students. You started a landscaping business and got bad debt for equipment and a truck. So you’ll be taxed to help keep Universities transforming into spa resorts. https://t.co/6WH2EzuESB

It’s none of these.
But fantastic job of pandering to your base.— C.B.W. (@CBW556) April 16, 2022
No, it’s wrongfully shifting the cost of that debt to all other tax payers, many of whom are not college educated.
There is no justice in making others pay for the debts others incurred for something they don’t even have themselves and on avg benefits those with degrees more

Wait, how is that racial Justice??

Free money for well educated college graduates is now social justice.

Student debt cancellation means those college accepted people weren’t smart enough to not take out a loan
Student debt cancellation means those college educated people make more than non college educated but don’t want to pay their own bill

It's theft. But you're good at that

Pay your bills, deadbeats

You can't cancel a debt. You can only shift the liability to someone else. Where's the justice for the people who are now burdened with a debt they never agreed to take on?
— Robust Megafauna (@WeSavageFew) April 16, 2022
No, it’s income redistribution, plain and simple…

Yes. Make blue collar workers pay for upper middle class white kids’ gender studies degrees. Great idea as usual.

Anyone remember back when words had meaning?
— Harrison Krank (@HarrisonKrank) April 16, 2022
It’s economic justice to make blue-collar workers pay off the debt of college-educated people? How is that justice?
