God bless Sen. Joe Manchin for putting a bullet into the multi-trillion-dollar Build Back Better bill. The man’s been taking abuse from his own party for months now, and they keep finding new angles to shame him. A lot of Democrats can’t believe Manchin would vote against a spending bill that would benefit his “poor, illiterate, and strung-out” constituents in West Virginia.
Congressman Jamaal Bowman of New York says the people in his own district are suffering, but Manchin, as a white man, is showing that he doesn’t care about black people … or Latinos, or the poor, or women, or immigrants. Man, there sure are a lot of people who depend on the government for day-to-day life. Maybe hard-working Latinos are sick of being lumped in with that group, seeing as Biden’s approval rating with Hispanics is significantly worse than it is with whites.
Maybe Bowman’s words would carry a little more weight if Democrats didn’t say the same thing about Republicans every single day.
