As more and more schools adopt critical race theory and anti-racism into their curriculums, and as progressive organizations get more shrewd, you’ll notice a lot of talk about “equity,” such as mandatory sessions on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
A cartoon that’s going around shows the difference between equality and equity. See, under equality, the two children are given the same tool, but the outcome isn’t fair. Equity improves things a lot by providing custom tools to make up for the inequality. Justice fixes the whole system so that custom tools aren’t necessary.
Why couldn’t that kid just have moved his ladder to the other side? pic.twitter.com/8GvkI2qVwz

Structural racism

Moving the ladder would require critical thinking skills.
— MsOptimisticCat (@MsOptimisticCat) May 1, 2021
That requires expending emotional labor and that would be exhausting.

This is just a cute way to propagandize communism.

They forgot socialism. Where one kid does all the work and gives the other kid half the apples.
— QuadL4? (@RanchQuad) May 1, 2021
How the hell you gonna force a tree to grow apples on every side and all through perfectly equally, and get people to pick at exactly the same rate?
They can’t even make their fake, BS communism-in-drag sound plausible IN THEIR OWN SIMPLEMINDED ILLUSTRATION. https://t.co/PXUHaySHMO

A couple of 2×4's will NOT straighten that tree. Clearly these people don't study biology or engineering.
In reality "justice" amounts to the ladders falling into disrepair and everyone starving.
— Norman Lorrain (@normanlorrain) May 1, 2021
This is exactly what government intervention looks like: wasting tons of time and resources on a ridiculously and needlessly complex "solution" instead of going with something obvious and simple.
— Torchiest (@Torchiest) May 1, 2021
This is a great analogy because we know that you can't straighten a tree like that. It is absurd. So, I guess we can conclude that all their proposed ideas are equally disconnected from reality.

I've wondered why the guy on the right doesn't go offer to pick apples for the guy on the left in exchange for money, saving the left guy the trouble. A job is now created, they both get some apples, and the buyer can go build ladders that support real jobs. Yea?

The use of animated pictures and cartoons to get across their points tells you more than a little something about the target audience.
— alise (@hemflocker) May 1, 2021
Where’s the slide for teamwork? They really do think it’s all about them.
— Jill (@jillyjillk) May 1, 2021
And the design, materials, transport of those materials, manufacturing of the ladders, marketing and advertising for delivery of the optimal ladder and tree-righting are all “free.”
— TrumpSuppo (@SuppoTrump) May 1, 2021
They're missing the slide where the government chops down the tree. Everybody gets easy, equal access to the carcass but don't realize that it will never grow again.

In equity, they take away the ladders so no one gets an apple
— Anon_Viewer (@Anon_Viewer_584) May 1, 2021
The idea that everyone is supposed to have identical access to all opportunities, along with the identical desire and ability to execute on those opportunities, is sheer lunacy.
— Earl Kralik (@earlkralik) May 1, 2021
Their idea of equality is tying 30 kids to the feet of the one kid willing to go up the ladder in the first place. Then demanding he give the dead weight the fruits of his labor.

Who comes up with this dumb shit?
