The Associated Press reports that PGA golfer Justin Thomas is going to enter a “training program” after using a homophobic slur after missing a 5-foot putt at the Sentry Tournament of Champions a couple of weeks ago. Ralph Lauren cut ties with Thomas after the incident, and he’s hoping to retain the rest of his sponsors, but really, it’s all about finding the person inside him who said such a horrible thing.
“It’s not a word I use,” Thomas said this week, “but for some reason it was in there and that’s what I’m trying to figure out — why it was in there.”
