As Twitchy reported earlier Saturday, 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke made it clear that as president he would implement a mandatory buy-back of assault weapons. If you own an AK-47 or AR-15, “you’ll have to sell them to the government,” he told a reporter.
This was before news of the twin shootings in Odessa and Midland, Texas, as was Cory Booker’s tweet, in which he promised on Day 1 as president to crack down on gun manufacturers and close all of those dangerous gun sales loopholes.
Beginning on Day One in office, I will take executive action to reduce gun violence—closing dangerous loopholes in gun sales, cracking down on gun manufacturers, and investing in communities impacted by gun violence.
