Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey won't be removing his Easter Facebook post … ever

There was a piece published Thursday in the Arizona Republic noting that people were demanding that Gov. Doug Ducey remove his Easter Facebook post, which remains on the rite and will remain on the site, according to the governor.

Maria Polletta reports:

In the letter sent to the governor Tuesday, Secular Communities attorney Dianne Post wrote that “elected officials should not use their government position and government property to promote their religious views.”

She said the courts have repeatedly “struck down symbolism that unites government with religion,” and the Governor’s Office must “represent and protect the rights of all residents of Arizona, including those who do not believe in a monotheistic god or any gods at all.”

Funny how it was the Easter post that caused all the trouble, though the governor said none of them are coming down.

Good answer.
