The two-year countdown is over and now know the schedule: Attorney General Bill Barr will hold a press conference Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m., and the redacted Mueller report will be given to Congress between 11 a.m. and noon and posted on the Internet soon after.
Political Twitter gets ugly, but the smears against the “so-called attorney general” are out of control. The Resistance has invested more than two years in Robert Mueller finding collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians, and when word got out they weren’t going to get that, speculation turned to Barr redacting passages of the report damaging to the president — even though Mueller’s office assisted with the redactions.
There have been calls to boycott the press conference due to the fact that the media will not yet have their own copies of the Mueller report, and Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler is assuming that the whole thing is a really bad attempt at spinning bad news:
Barr news conference at 9:30 am, Mueller report released at 11 am: In the annals of pathetic efforts to spin apparently bad news in Washington, this ranks near the top.

"Fact" is as safe Glenn's hands as safe as Notre Dame cathedral is in the hands of the winner of the international architectural competition to rebuild it. https://t.co/76zvgFR9La

Yes, this is the first time in history anyone has held a press conference in Washington. Truly historic. https://t.co/lllxRMw0h8

Also a chance it is not spin, and it is not "apparently bad news" https://t.co/6Gtg7ViG30

After an epic performance testifying to Congress
AG Barr continues his tour de force by ruining the media's cunning plan to force him to tell them what is in the color-coded redactions of the #MuellerReport

Here comes the NPC narrative flood. Expect similar tweets from all talking mouth pieces
'Report gonna be bad.' 'Dont listen to Barr press conference it's all spin, we arent spinning'
Cant be that bad if it says no collusion –which it does https://t.co/FEiWq91avQ

We have no idea what the report says. Maybe it will be bad, maybe it won't be that bad. Stop it with the conspiracies. https://t.co/pKtH5QCb4M

Don't worry, Glenn. You and your colleagues are going to get your opportunity to mine the report for a few nuggets you can try to spin into a justification for your two year campaign of partisan wish-casting.

It could be that they are not doing the Press Conference to ‘defend’ the report. They may be going on the offensive. This might be about the investigation they are launching and the ‘spying’. The intent may be to undermine the report not to defend it.

I think suicide hotlines need to have all hands on deck tomorrow. The members of the liberal species have put all of their personal hopes and dreams, and their very existence on this report.

Update:
Kessler’s utter speculation caught the attention of CNN’s Brian Stelter, who gave it a retweet:
Unbiased @washingtonpost journalist passes judgment on tomorrow's news before it happens. Unbiased @CNN media critic promptly promotes WaPo pre-spin to all his followers. Wait 14 hours to trash Barr? How old fashioned. They're going to trash him anyhow so might as well do it now. pic.twitter.com/7S7L9OOzVi
