WaPo fact-checker calls Bill Barr's press conference a 'pathetic effort to spin apparently bad news'

The two-year countdown is over and now know the schedule: Attorney General Bill Barr will hold a press conference Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m., and the redacted Mueller report will be given to Congress between 11 a.m. and noon and posted on the Internet soon after.

Political Twitter gets ugly, but the smears against the “so-called attorney general” are out of control. The Resistance has invested more than two years in Robert Mueller finding collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians, and when word got out they weren’t going to get that, speculation turned to Barr redacting passages of the report damaging to the president — even though Mueller’s office assisted with the redactions.

There have been calls to boycott the press conference due to the fact that the media will not yet have their own copies of the Mueller report, and Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler is assuming that the whole thing is a really bad attempt at spinning bad news:
