Lesbians Who Tech summit addresses what YouTube's CEO is going to do about Ben Shapiro videos

We’ve already had a post today on a Twitter blue-check who considers having a son probably his biggest life regret, so let’s turn the other direction, to a woman who loves her son enough to ask YouTube’s CEO what she’s going to do about her son watching Ben Shapiro videos online.

Recode’s Kara Swisher brought up the Ben Shapiro problem at the Lesbians Who Tech summit in San Francisco in a talk with YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki. She had the head of the company right there to discuss child safety online and had a personal beef to bring up. We’ll just quote Swisher:

My son, who is 13 years old, started watching Ben Shapiro videos. And he’s like the gateway drug to the next group. And then it goes right to Jordan Peterson, then it goes down and in three clicks he was in Neo-Nazi stuff. It was astonishing. And then I had to listen to it at dinner. And I was sort of like, “I’m going to kill Susan Wojcicki first.”

Wait, it gets worse. Speaking of her son, Swisher defeatedly said, “He’s lost.” But Wojcicki was there to pick up the pieces:

No, we can work on your son here, I have a son too and I get some of these discussions also at the dinner table. I think what you’re describing is — and the way we think about it, too — look, there’s a set of content that has to meet the community guidelines. Ben Shapiro is going to meet the community guidelines. I don’t think you’re suggesting that we remove him from the platform. Are you?

“I would, but I can’t,” Swisher replied.

Shapiro, the Internet’s most famous neo-Nazi Jew, spoke up on his own behalf:

Won’t somebody think of the children! They’re on YouTube watching … Ben Shapiro videos!

Because three clicks later, you’re a neo-Nazi.

Even the Anitfa goons who set cities on fire because a local campus has invited Shapiro to speak couldn’t tell you their problem with him.

Seems Swisher’s got another bug up her butt, and it’s Peggy Noonan.
