Benny Johnson digs up video of Barack Obama's much praised fast-food run in 2009

As Twitchy reported, President Trump invited the NCAA national champion Clemson Tigers football team to the White House and offered them a classy table filled with fast food from McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King.

There was controversy, though; Trump had said he’d purchased over a thousand burgers stacked a mile high, but the fact-checking firefighters at the Washington Post did some calculations and discovered, at two inches a burger, a thousand burgers would not reach one mile high.

Hey, remember that time when reporters fact-checked President Obama jumping into “the Beast” and taking it to Five Guys? They didn’t have to, because every moment was caught on camera — almost as if the whole thing were a show for the cameras filming for a two-night special.

NBC News reported at the time:

For a health food nut, President Barack Obama sure likes his burgers.

Obama made a surprise lunchtime stop at Five Guys Burgers and Fries, a fast-food restaurant in Washington, D.C.

The president ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, jalapeño peppers, and mustard, and placed several other to go orders for his staff. He also ordered a cheeseburger for Brian Williams, the anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News. The network is filming a day-in-the-life program, “Inside the Obama White House: Brian Williams Reports,” a two-night special airing June 2 and 3, at 9 p.m. ET.

Aw, the president even bought lyin’ Brian Williams a cheeseburger.

NBC News also noted that, “Despite their burger runs, the Obamas are big believers in exercise and healthy eating.”
