SCOTUS pick Brett Kavanaugh used credit cards to buy baseball tickets and Shannon Watts is suspicious

We’re not exactly sure what to call this: The Washington Post ran the piece under its “Investigations” heading, but it’s information gleaned from financial disclosures and information provided by the White House, so it’s not like it’s some big secret being uncovered.

Oh, the big secret? Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh used his credit cards to buy thousands of dollars of baseball tickets for himself and a handful of friends.

Yep, no doubt about it. Not when this story blows wide open:

Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh incurred tens of thousands of dollars of credit card debt buying baseball tickets over the past decade and at times reported liabilities that could have exceeded the value of his cash accounts and investment assets, according to a review of Kavanaugh’s financial disclosures and information provided by the White House.

White House spokesman Raj Shah told The Washington Post that Kavanaugh built up the debt by buying Washington Nationals season tickets and tickets for playoff games for himself and a “handful” of friends. Shah said some of the debts were also for home improvements.

Moms Demand founder Shannon Watts thinks the whole thing sounds “off”:

Public servants who claim to be socialists also shouldn’t own three homes, but what are you gonna do? We’ll certainly take Watts’ words under advisement while we scan through some other takes:

Yeah, remember when The New York Times called out Sen. Marco Rubio for buying a “luxury speedboat” (actually a fishing boat) — an “extravagant purchase” they called it. Good times.

Yeah, the investigation into Kavanaugh just takes us further and further down the rabbit hole:
