As Twitchy reported Monday, a new Gallup poll shows that a record low number of Americans consider themselves “extremely proud” to be Americans, although the gap between political parties was substantial. Only 32 percent of Democrats would call themselves “extremely proud” to be Americans as opposed to 74 percent of Republicans.
Count former MSNBC host Touré among those who are helping bring that number down to a record low:
Gallup: A record-low 47% of Americans are extremely proud to be Americans. I get it. I’m not extremely proud to be an American right now. Are you?
— Touré (@Toure) July 3, 2018
Hey, the guy asked.

I am.

Yes, and so were the vast majority of Republicans when Obama was president https://t.co/iCEpae6iqY
— Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) July 4, 2018
Republicans generally don’t judge whether they’re proud to be Americans based on who is president.

I'm not proud you are an american either. I thought we were made of sterner stuff.

Try not politicizing everything, seeing race in everything, and equating politicians to America and you might get there.

Hell yes. What’s wrong with you.

The US *must* be the greatest nation on Earth.
Those who live in it, and hate it, wouldn't DREAM of leaving it.
Those who DON'T live in it, and hate it, will risk their lives to get here.
— Chuck Vipperman (@ChuckVipperman) July 4, 2018
Very much so. Spend enough time in the non-western world among the non-elite and you would be too. Whoever is in the White House is NOT the whole country and if you think it is, then it's YOU that has the problem.
— Michael Openshaw (@mopenshaw) July 4, 2018
I've ALWAYS been proud to be a patriotic United States citizen. Those that aren't proud aren't patriots.

I love my country! Regardless of which political party has the majority. My life changes by my effort! Not these jackasses making policies! Our system may have flaws, but it's the best one going in the world!

If you give up on your country because you don’t like who won the White House you have no idea what it means to be an American.

I always get teary when I vote. I have since I was 18. I never take for granted the incredible freedom I was given for simply being born here. And I get a vote in how my beautiful country is governed. I don’t always get my way but I’m still so lucky and blessed I got to vote.

I was proud to be an American through 8 years of the Obama presidency, even though I opposed many of his policies. My patriotism isn’t dependent on who’s in the Oval Office. Too bad you don’t really love your country. Feel free to live elsewhere.

Yes. Also, does getting ratio'd for asking this count as a poll?
