If it’s not too late, a few days following the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Va., Chanelle Helm of Black Lives Matters of Louisville published in LEO Weekly her list of 10 requests for non-racist white people like Gaga.

We’d missed it at the time, but it seems fortuitous that it’s making the rounds on social media now, just as the New York Post is filling us in on the plight of wealthy New Yorkers who are embarrassed by their white privilege.

It looks like we have a match made in progressive heaven.
See, many of Helm’s requests of white people involve real estate. If you own a house (or three … we’re looking at you, Bernie), you should will it to a black or brown family or, better yet, downsize today — just move out and give your house to a black or brown family. Here are a few requests:
4. White people, if you can afford to downsize, give up the home you own to a black or brown family. Preferably a family from generational poverty.
5. White people, if any of the people you intend to leave your property to are racists assholes, change the will, and will your property to a black or brown family. Preferably a family from generational poverty.
6. White people, re-budget your monthly so you can donate to black funds for land purchasing.

And there’s a lot of competition for that honor. Still, if there really are wealthy New Yorkers doing “impressive mental gymnastics to avoid identifying themselves as truly rich,” giving up that townhouse apartment to a black or brown family might do wonders to assuage the guilt.
