Messing around with the electoral map might be the only fun thing to happen this campaign season

Credit or blame Nate Silver and fivethirtyeight.com for inspiring what might be the only fun anyone will have with the election between now and November.

The site presented the public with the answer to a question no one remembers asking: what would the electoral map look like if only men voted, or if only women voted?

Not surprisingly, the map turned almost solid blue when men were removed from the equation.

Come to think of it, Silver is exhibiting a pretty blatant gender-binary mindset there. Fortunately, his maps set the gears moving online, compelling the public to design their own electoral maps to depict just about any scenario.
