Didn't anyone stop to remember Ahmed 'Clock Kid' Mohamed during the 9/11 ceremonies?

Hillary Clinton’s early and unexpected departure from the 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York tended to overshadow the rest of the day’s news, but now that it’s after 9/11, isn’t anyone curious to know how the largest terrorist attack on American soil affected Ahmed “Clock Kid” Mohamed?

Lest anyone go overboard remembering those killed on 9/11, Twitter users provided some perspective with the #AfterSeptember11 hashtag, reminding citizens of the struggle faced by those trying to make their way in a post-9/11 United States. Mohamed again shared his tale (at least it seems like him — Twitter, which offered him an internship, didn’t waste any time verifying his account).

Mohamed accompanied his own tweet with selected screenshots from other persecuted Twitter users with screen names such as “Bush did 9/11.”

He also left out that he was offered internships at some of America’s largest tech companies, sent tons of swag, and invited to the White House, where he attended Astronomy Night and spoke briefly with the president (without his cool clock, alas). On top of that, he was offered scholarships, including one in Qatar, where he spent nine months before returning to racist hell-hole Texas.
