The party conventions already seem like a long time ago, and it’s easy to forget the last-second shakeup in Philadelphia after Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was pulled over a WikiLeaks email dump that proved what everyone already knew: that as party chair she had her thumb firmly on the scale for Hillary Clinton through the entire primary.
Bernie Sanders of course knew it all along, and had expressed his displeasure in May by lending his support to the man who had his eye on her House seat, Tim Canova. It wasn’t meant to be, though, and Sanders felt the burn one last time this election cycle as Wasserman Schultz took an early lead and rode it to victory Tuesday night.
