Donald Trump tells #CNNTownHall that Michelle Fields could have had a knife, or a dangerous pen

Donald Trump had threatened to skip out on tonight’s #CNNTownHall with Anderson Cooper, tweeting that the network “has nothing but my opponents on their shows.” In the end, Trump did show, and to no one’s surprise, Cooper’s first questions had to do with Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and the minor battery charges he faces following the alleged grabbing of former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields.

Trump has stood firmly by Lewandowski, and on CNN he told Cooper that Fields should not have been approaching him (he had already given his victory speech) and that as far as he knew, should could have had a knife rather than a pen.
