We're getting the word Senate will take up #campuscarry soon. Compromise bill allows campus presidents to designate "gun free" zones #txlege

It didn’t take long for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to be savaged by his critics yesterday when he tweeted that open carry legislation had passed the Texas House and Senate and was headed to his desk for his signature. “You suck Greg Abbott,” wrote one tweeter. “Thanks for allowing my life & my kid’s life in danger” — as if concealed carry were somehow a safer alternative to open carry.
Imagine the liberal heads that will explode now that the Texas Senate has voted to approve campus carry at Texas’ public universities.

Not surprisingly, members of the “Not One More” contingent of Everytown for Gun Safety had literally lined up to lobby against the legislation.

As a conduct officer, #campuscarry scares me. Do I need to buy a bulletproof vest to be able to work, #txlege?

If campus carry scares you, then yes, you should probably buy yourself a bulletproof vest.

Dana Loesch has a message for all the moms demanding action on behalf of their kids.
Stop calling college adults who want to conceal carry “kids.” You have to be 21 to get a handgun. Education! #TXlege #CampusCarry

@DLoesch I love how folks are cool with 18-year-olds in the military, but balk at 21+ y/o adults who own guns being able to #campuscarry
