Brian Williams' 'helicopter lie' lets Bill Moyers indulge in Iraq War flashback

Bill Moyers certainly isn’t the only liberal using NBC News anchor Brian Williams’ “helicopter lie” to relive the glory days of Bush bashing. The piece to which he links, by Stockholm University’s Christian Christensen, takes all U.S. networks to task for having “aggressively cheer-led an invasion” with their “ultra-militaristic news logos and music.”

In short, making a fuss over Williams’ little chopper whopper is “an affront to all who lost their lives in a brutal and bloody deception.”

Good plan. A little more consistency in calling out the media on its “aggressive cheerleading” would go a long way, too, and wouldn’t require reaching back to the Bush administration or the Crusades or that time Moyers was considered relevant.
