'No self-awareness at all': In light of Charlie Hebdo massacre, don't forget plight of Julian Assange

WikiLeaks has a special talent for inserting itself into any tragedy that grabs the world’s attention to remind the world that editor-in-chief Julian Assange is the true victim. As Western leaders reassert the importance of freedom of speech in light of the terrorist attack on satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo that killed 12, WikiLeaks instead tweets this:

While it’s true that Assange has been hiding out in the Embassy of Ecuador in London since 2012, it’s common knowledge that what he’s been hiding from is extradition to Sweden, where he’s wanted for questioning over charges of molestation and rape, not “espionage.”
