"There's no reluctancy…" Grimes when asked whether she voted for Obama, before proceeding not to answer it. #KYSEN
— David M. Drucker (@DavidMDrucker) October 14, 2014
Kentucky’s Secretary of State and Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate Alison Lundergan Grimes, who recently refused to say if she ever voted for Barack Obama, came out of the gate at Monday night’s debate with Sen. Mitch McConnell doing whatever she could to distance herself from the president — including doubling down on her refusal to reveal for whom she voted.
Having had days to come up with a better answer, Grimes yet again resorts to embarrassing evasions about voting for Obama. C'mon. #KYSen

Wow. Grimes doubles-down on the non-answer on 2012 presidential vote. "This is a matter of principle."

Grimes pushing for privacy at the ballot box as KY Secretary of State as reason to disclose who she voted for!?!?
— Luke Russert (@LukeRussert) October 14, 2014
Grimes: "I'm not going to compromise a constitutional right provided here in Kentucky in order to curry favor on one or the other side."
— Mike Memoli (@mikememoli) October 14, 2014
Grimes still isn't saying whether she voted for Obama or not, says it's her constitutional right #KYSen

"I'm not going to compromise a constitutional right…" Grimes #KYSEN … If Obama was at 50% in KY, I doubt that'd be the case.
— David M. Drucker (@DavidMDrucker) October 14, 2014
I have never heard a politician running for office push "privacy at the ballot box."
— Luke Russert (@LukeRussert) October 14, 2014
Grimes digs in, won't say if she voted for Obama: "I am not going to compromise" on right not to divulge
— Manu Raju (@mkraju) October 14, 2014
Privacy at the ballot box is the new self deport.
— Luke Russert (@LukeRussert) October 14, 2014
Well that appears to be one question that ain't getting answered.
— Sam Youngman (@samyoungman) October 14, 2014
People freak out saying it's unfair to critique for not saying who voted for…no it's not. It's simple, voters deserve to know.
— Luke Russert (@LukeRussert) October 14, 2014
If you can't answer tough questions you can't make tough decisions. Answering who you voted for is NOT a tough question.
— Luke Russert (@LukeRussert) October 14, 2014
It's your right not to say whom you voted for. But it's not a matter of principle unless the principle is being a coward.
— John Podhoretz (@jpodhoretz) October 14, 2014
Wow. Just say you who voted for. Stand up for your decision. Own it. Geez. People respect honesty. #kysen

Touché:
McConnell says he "proudly" voted for Mitt Romney & the country would be in a better state now if he had won. #kysen

Assuming her reasons for keeping her vote secret are pure, what does Grimes think of the president’s policies and job performance?
First question from Bill Goodman: what would you say to convince Kentuckians that you'd be an independent voice? #KySen

.@AlisonForKY says her record speaks to bipartisan. “I have my disagreements with the president,” she says. #KYSen

“The president is not on the ballot this year,” says @AlisonForKY. #KYSen

Grimes, asked about being an independent Senator, hammers away at her talking point that Obama "is not on the ballot." #kysen
— Steve Bittenbender (@freelancehack) October 14, 2014
But his policies are, according to, ya know, him MT @phillipmbailey: “The president isnt on the ballot this year,” says @AlisonForKY. #KYSen

Is anyone up for a Koch brothers drinking game now that we’ve played “Obama who?”
Thus far, @AlisonForKY has mentioned ‘Koch brothers’ more than @Team_Mitch has @BarackObama by my count. #KYSen
— Philmonger (@phillipmbailey) October 14, 2014
"You and your henchmen, the Koch brothers." Who think she'll call them his "thugs" or "posse" next? @AlisonForKY #kysen

I have audio now on PBS stream. First thing I heard was "Koch Brothers." #KYsen
