Raven-Symoné rejects African American label on 'Oprah,' sets Twitter 'on fire'

What exactly is "blackness?" It's a silly term. Black people are not monolithic.

If everyone had such common sense, we wouldn’t have to be treated to warnings from Oprah that her interview with “Cosby Show” and “That’s So Raven” star Raven-Symoné — particularly the part about rejecting labels— would “set Twitter on fire.”

Lol @Oprah 's reaction to Raven's label comment. "…Set Twitter on fire." That it did.

So, what did Raven-Symoné say?

Oprah said, “You gon’ set twitter on fire.” That’s basically “YOU IN DANGER GIRL” LMAOOOOOOO

Since we got the common sense out of the way early, what’s so wrong with wanting to be labeled simply an American?

Raven Symone is acting VERY lightskin this week.

Can we agree that Raven-Symone should be labelled confused as fuck?

Raven is gonna wind up in a situation where the privilege will be superseded by what people see her as. That 'New Black' gets folk effed up.

Seems like Oprah is the go to person when a black celebrity wants to distance themselves from blackness. Fuck you Raven Symone.

Thanks, Oprah.
