It’s a Zen koan of sorts: if comedian Patton Oswalt complains about gun owners defending their right to own firearms before they’ve even thought of doing so, who’s the one jumping the gun, so to speak? Maybe there’s a good reason law-abiding gun owners are so reflexively defensive whenever a shooting like the one at LAX takes place.
