At last: CNN's expert panel tackles 'N-word vs. cracker' debate

It’s been more than four years since Attorney General Eric Holder challenged us “cowards” to have that difficult discussion on race we as a nation have been putting off. Fast-forward to 2013, and CNN, inspired by the firing of a celebrity chef, decided to convene a panel to discuss the N-word. That special, hosted by Don Lemon and aired today, was cleverly titled, “The N Word.” Among the topics discussed, thanks to the testimony of George Zimmerman trial star witness Rachel Jeantel, was the comparative offense of “creepy ass cracker.”

Didn’t Tommy Christopher clear all of this up last week when he explained that “cracker” is actually ” a proud nod to [Florida’s] history, and one’s own ancestry”? “Creepy ass” could very well be a compliment too; we’ll have to ask Alec Baldwin for his expertise.
