Radio silence: CNN Radio calls it quits

Employees of CNN Radio today learned that the organization is going silent almost immediately.

Just learned: Bad news. CNN has decided to end CNN Radio, I have just learned. Unclear what this means for me exactly. On phone call now.

CNN Radio is closing its doors. It's been a tremendous 13 years for me. Very proud to have been associated with such a quality company.

@JFarleyWTOP @theradiostuff The writing was on the wall for CNN Radio the moment Dial Global ended its syndication 2 link up with NBC Radio.

You did know there was a CNN Radio, right?

Wait, there was such a thing as CNN Radio? And that’s all you need to know about why it’s being shut down.

It’s true that many did think CNN had already shut down, having long gone to an online podcast format.

@WestWingReport I thought CNN Radio was shut down last year. Still, I'm sad about your friend and others who may be affected.

CNN Radio actually hasn't been radio for over a year since Dial Global ended distribution. CNN Radio now primarily podcasts.
