When President Obama took the podium Tuesday night to assure the nation he’d do everything in his power to make sure nothing like the current IRS scandal would ever happen again, we’re pretty sure he didn’t have abolishing the IRS in mind. Instead, he announced the resignation of the acting commissioner, who was already headed for the exit. As much as he’d like that largely symbolic move to settle the matter, the idea of getting rid of the IRS altogether is picking up steam.
Rupert Murdoch pitched in by calling for the elimination of all deductions, but as others pointed out, that really would do nothing to address the current scandal.

With the IRS moving into the health care business, Obamacare would have to be scrapped too — consider that a bonus. The only trick seems to be deciding what system would replace the current one.
