It’s telling what inspires journalists to finally take a critical look at the way they do business. Former President George W. Bush was the man of the hour today at the dedication of his presidential library, an event that should have been non-political and non-partisan. Fox News’ Dana Perino, who served as White House Press Secretary under Bush, was dispatched to cover the event. Are you concerned yet?
@HowardKurtz uh, can't watch this right now but good grief it's meant to be fun & cute, not news. For that, see @BretBaier intvu at 6 pm ET

Good grief, indeed. This is what finally raises an eyebrow over the all-too-cozy relationship between politicians and the media?
@HowardKurtz Jeez, lighten-UP

@HowardKurtz Perhaps Bush wants to be around members of his ex-staff on his big day. Should iStephanopoulos interview Hillary?
— Dana (@Grandbulldoggie) April 25, 2013
@HowardKurtz not a problem. It's intended to be a puff peice. He isn't there to make news. Perino makes no claim to be news reporter.

.@DanaPerino maybe they're jealous that they didn't get to call him Hitler to his face in their own interview. @HowardKurtz

@HowardKurtz No, but if we expected TV news to be ethical re: the revolving door MSNBC would shut down

@HowardKurtz Should CNN have Paul Begala 'analyze' Democratic Party policies? Or have Chris Cuomo 'report' on New York State issues?
— Dan O'Donnell (@DanODonnellShow) April 25, 2013
.@HowardKurtz should you worry yourself with other media when you work for a hack like the Daily Beast?

@HowardKurtz Should you critique media while on payroll of DailyBeast?
