Jim Treacher has a question about guns on the base, and Twitter might have the answer.
Fort Knox shooting has Army post on lockdown | Fox News http://t.co/3va4xMLCPZ Are guns allowed on base, or is it like Ft. Hood?

Before the gun grabbers even start frothing-Fort Knox has full mandatory gun registration on post. http://t.co/MrZoCzZxjH
— Dave Thul (@davethul) April 3, 2013
Starting January 2013, all Privately Owned Weapons (POW) must be registered through the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES). IAW Army Regulation 190-11, Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (RAR 28 June 2011) this includes firearms belonging to personnel residing off post who transport firearms onto the installation for the purpose of hunting or marksmanship shooting.
…
As a reminder, individuals must declare firearms at the Gate upon entry and have the registration document whenever the firearm is transported on the installation. They must present the registration permit to range/hunt control officials prior to conducting activities utilizing the firearm.
@jtLOL ALL military bases have serious gun control a la Ft. Hood.
