Justin Timberlake, Al Green to perform at White House next week

The White House actually makes a great concert venue once you clear out all of those pesky school kids in their tour groups. Fear not, though: we taxpayers might be locked out of the people’s house due to sequestration cuts, but “In Performance at the White House: Memphis Soul” will be streamed live and then broadcast on PBS April 16. The performers will then pile into a bus and embark on a nationwide “Seques-tour.” (OK, not really.)

The program includes Alabama Shakes, Al Green, Ben Harper, Queen Latifah, Cyndi Lauper, Justin Timberlake, and a special fiddle performance by Emperor Nero. It’s the tenth “In Performance at the White House” event hosted by President Obama.
