We guess the “severe conservatives” among the Senate Democrats and Republicans didn’t get @BarackObama’s memo reminding them of the futility of trying to roll back progress. The Supreme Court may have upheld Obamacare, but the court doesn’t control the purse strings.
Senate votes 79-20 in favor of repealing the medical device tax imposed by the Obamacare law. But will O sign it?

Yes, most of us are still finding out to our shock and surprise what’s in the Affordable Care Act, but in a non-binding resolution tonight, the Senate voted 79-20 in favor of repealing Obamacare’s medical device tax, which was calculated to raise $20 billion over the next 10 years to (help) fund it.
The 2.3% Medical device tax went into effect in January; it's estimated that it brings in $20 billion over 10 years

Context: Budget amendment to repeal medical device tax is important b/c it's political marker that is way to defund the Affordable Care Act
— Nancy Cook (@nancook) March 22, 2013
The Senate vote on medical device tax is non-binding but appropriation rider forbidding IRS collection or enforcement would be.

Senate votes 79-20 to repeal Obamacare's $30 billion medical device tax. Should pass the House in a heartbeat. Big win for the industry.

OK, it's non-binding but this huge vote to repeal medical device tax — a funding mechanism for ObamaCare — has to be a WH embarassment

Dems only passed absurd medical device tax in the 1st place so they could pretend Obamacare was "paid for." No need for that charade anymore
